OSK-SBI Venture Partners Announces Successful Exit From Growth Investment in Java Offshore

OSK-SBI Venture Partners, the Malaysia-based venture capital fund backed by OSK Ventures International Berhad and SBI Ventures Malaysia Sdn Bhd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of SBI Holdings Inc, Japan), today announces the completion of its exit from the investment in Java Offshore, a leading independent offshore services contractor in Southeast Asia. The exit represents a key milestone for OSK-SBI’s inaugural fund, demonstrating the firm’s ability to catalyze growth and deliver healthy returns in capital-intensive industrial services sectors. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

OSK-SBI first invested in Java Offshore in 2020, partnering with the company’s leadership to support the regional expansion of its Offshore Geoscience solutions for energy, infrastructure and telecommunication clients. During the investment period, Java Offshore solidified its position as a premier provider of offshore geophysical, geotechnical investigation, geo-consulting solutions, winning significant new contracts and expanding its operational footprint across key regional markets.

“Since our initial investment, Java Offshore weathered the lockdowns brought about by various governments in reaction to the Covid pandemic and emerged stronger, demonstrating exceptional operational execution and market leadership under the steady guidance of its CEO, Mr Rizal Shah,” said Mark Lee, Head of Investment at OSK-SBI Venture Partners. “The company has significantly broadened its service capabilities and developed an impressive customer base, delivering robust growth in revenue and market relevance despite challenging global energy sector dynamics. As for us, we’re delighted to have been able to demonstrate our ability to serve as a good partner to Java Offshore as well as responsible stewards by returning back to our investors a realized value representing more than half of our fund size as Distributions in Paid-in Capital (DPI) from this single investment”

“We are pleased to have completed this successful partnership with Mark and his team at OSK-SBI Venture Partners” said Rizal Shah, Chief Executive Officer at Java Offshore. “Over the past five years since the partnership, Java Offshore has successfully executed numerous contracts with leading energy companies operating in this region whilst expanded its services beyond the Oil & Gas segment to include services within infrastructure and telecommunication clients. Culminating from our partnership with OSK-SBI, Java Offshore successfully delivered its largest ever deepwater geophysical campaign safely in early December 2025 demonstrating the company’s enhanced capabilities of delivering large and complex campaign.”

The successful exit underscores OSK-SBI’s strategic focus on partnering with revenue-generating enterprises with strong growth potential and ability to operate outside of its home market. Java Offshore’s trajectory exemplifies the type of deep value creation opportunity that OSK-SBI targets: scalable business models with differentiated capabilities, strong management teams, and clear paths to market leadership.
