SBI Holdings, Inc., (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Yoshitaka Kitao; hereinafter “SBI Holdings”) hereby announces that the company has established a joint fund with a venture capital firm, OSK Ventures International Berhad (hereinafter “OSKVI”), a public listed company incorporated in Malaysia, that engages in investment activities in the Asian region. The fund’s main investment target is promising private companies within ASEAN countries.
The initial total commitment amount of the Fund is USD 20 million, having the SBI group and OSKVI to contribute 50% each. In parallel with investing activities, we plan to add additional investors.
OSKVI is one of the few independent investment companies in Malaysia and has a wide network within the Malaysia-centric ASEAN region. Since its establishment in 2000, OSKVI has successfully nurtured more than 17 companies to trade sales and initial public offerings.
The SBI Group has been expanding its businesses in the emerging countries with high potential growth through the launch of joint venture funds with prominent overseas partners, and will endeavor to increase global investment businesses especially in Asian region.
